No it it is completely wireless. The internet is supplied via the dish we place on your roof.

To determine if you have coverage we will do a free site survey. Where the antenna needs to be installed has to have the best line of site to one of our towers on the Port Hills.

MonkeyNet can tailor a wifi solution for you whether its an extra wifi antenna or multiple antennas across your property but this will be at cost to you. Please contact us to discuss this further.

We use Ubiquiti wireless antennas and Mikrotik Routers.

The place which has the best possible signal strength will be where your antenna is ideally suited as this will give you good speed and reliability. Tin roofs are best suited if you don't have a good line of sight to the tower as the antenna can be placed higher. For those with tile roofs the antennas can generally only be installed on the eaves if you have a good line of sight.

Yes we supply all installs with a static IP address.

No. MonkeyNet will supply a managed Wifi router.

Depending on factors such as weather and complexity it could take 2-3 days to get a booking. It should however only take 1-3 hours for the install itself, we will program the router for you and will even connect your devices if needed.

This could be due to many factors. Check your signal strength on your device and make sure you are near your router. Check there are no trees or bushes growing in front of your dish. This may also be due to network congestion but we do our best to manage this.

If there's any known issues in your area you will will be texted an alert. If you haven't received an alert there may be a problem with your connection please contact us and well look into it further. DO NOT reboot or turn off your router unless we ask you to.

Your bill will be E-Mailed with the Bank Account details. It can be paid by automatic payment, internet banking or by going into your bank.

To see the balance of your account, on install we will E-Mail you a login invitation which gives you access to the Customer Login portal on our website.

We don't offer phone line packages at this stage but you can use another VOIP provider on our network. If you need more detail on this please contact us.

No all equipment (Wireless dish and mounting hardware, Router, Power supply) remains the property of MonkeyNet. We will uninstall the equipment for you. Any missing or damaged equipment will be invoiced to you.

If your router is not switched on it means its not connected to the tower and we may think there is a fault with your connection. It is also important to leave it on to receive the latest software updates for the equipment.

As all our routers are managed by us, you'll need to E-Mail us what you would like the password to be and we will do this for you free of charge.

We will uninstall and reinstall your equipment free of charge at your new address.
